Child-safety violations, exploitation, threats, harassment, hate, fraud, spam, doxxing, and illegal activity are not allowed.

Core principles
Poplous is built for adult, text-first conversations between strangers.
You do not need to continue any conversation. You can skip, block, or report when needed.
Respect consent, boundaries, anonymity, and safety. Do not pressure people to identify themselves, continue chatting, share personal information, send sexual content, or move off-platform.
Consent, boundaries, and sexual content
Do not pressure users into topics, identity sharing, contact sharing, sexual discussion, sexual content, or off-platform contact.
Poplous is not a dating app or adult-content platform. Unsolicited sexual messages, sexual pressure, sexual roleplay with unwilling users, and attempts to turn conversations sexual without clear mutual consent are not allowed.
If someone says no, ignores the topic, disconnects, asks to stop, or appears uncomfortable, stop.
Child safety
Do not use Poplous if you are under 18.
Do not seek, share, request, describe, normalize, sexualize, or facilitate sexual content involving minors or anyone who appears or is claimed to be under 18.
CSAM, grooming, sextortion, age-play involving minors, attempts to move minors off-platform, sexualized contact with anyone known, claimed, suspected, or appearing to be under 18, or attempts to obtain sexual material from a minor can lead to immediate removal, evidence preservation, and legal reporting. This applies even if the person later claims to be an adult.
Do not download, forward, screenshot, save, describe in detail, or reshare suspected child sexual abuse material. Use the report flow instead.
Harassment, hate, and threats
Do not target people with abuse, intimidation, slurs, dehumanizing language, sexual harassment, stalking, repeated unwanted contact, threats, humiliation, or encouragement of violence.
Do not attack protected characteristics, celebrate harm, organize harassment, threaten to expose private information, or pressure users to disclose personal information.
Self-harm and crisis
Do not encourage, instruct, pressure, glorify, or coordinate self-harm, suicide, eating-disorder behavior, substance abuse, or dangerous challenges.
Do not share methods, materials, instructions, suicide pacts, or content intended to make self-harm easier.
Supportive conversation is allowed, but Poplous is not an emergency service, crisis service, or medical provider and may not review reports in real time. If someone appears to be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first; crisis resources may also help.
Sexual exploitation and coercion
Do not threaten, blackmail, coerce, shame, manipulate, or pressure anyone for sexual content, money, contact information, identity details, or off-platform access.
Unsolicited sexual messages, sexual pressure, sexual roleplay with unwilling users, coercive sexual behavior, image-based abuse, trafficking, exploitation, sugar-daddy or money-for-sex scams, and sextortion are prohibited.
Do not create, request, share, threaten to share, or claim to possess non-consensual intimate content, sexual deepfakes, AI-generated intimate images, or private sexual material.
Spam, fraud, bots, and impersonation
Do not run scams, phishing, romance scams, investment or crypto fraud, job scams, fake giveaways, fake charity appeals, credential requests, malware distribution, spam funnels, bot campaigns, or repeated promotional messaging.
Do not impersonate Poplous, moderators, law enforcement, charities, public figures, other users, companies, or support staff.
Do not use bots, scripts, automation, fake accounts, repeated sessions, scraping, mass messaging, credential collection, or traffic manipulation unless Poplous has given written permission.
Illegal activity, doxxing, and contact sharing
Do not use Poplous to buy, sell, trade, solicit, promote, or coordinate illegal goods, services, exploitation, trafficking, weapons, stolen goods, counterfeit documents, drugs, financial crime, or other illegal activity.
Do not share or request private addresses, phone numbers, government identifiers, financial data, login credentials, precise location, workplace, school, family information, or other personal data without consent.
Do not pressure users to move off-platform when it creates safety risk, identity risk, sexual pressure, fraud risk, or exploitation risk.
Reports and moderation integrity
Use reports to flag real safety, abuse, policy, or legal concerns.
Do not submit false, malicious, retaliatory, spam, or misleading reports.
Do not interfere with moderation, attempt to manipulate enforcement systems, or encourage others to mass-report a user falsely.
Ban evasion
Do not bypass warnings, restrictions, suspensions, bans, blocks, rate limits, age restrictions, or safety checks.
This includes creating new accounts or guest sessions, changing devices, using VPNs or proxies to evade enforcement, manipulating identifiers, or using someone else's account or payment method.
Optional features
If Poplous enables optional features such as media, calling, friend connections, or journal features, these Guidelines also apply to those features.
Additional safety limits may apply to optional features.
Enforcement ladder
Depending on severity, context, history, and risk, Poplous may take no action, warn, remove content, limit matching, restrict features, suspend accounts or sessions, ban accounts or sessions, preserve evidence, or escalate legally.
Severe child-safety, exploitation, credible threat, fraud, ban evasion, or illegal-content cases may skip earlier enforcement steps.
Enforcement may apply to guest sessions, accounts, devices, payment entitlements, safety signals, or other identifiers used to protect the service.
Paying for premium features does not remove enforcement, reverse bans, or give access to unsafe behavior.
