Plain-language summary

Poplous is for adults only. You must be 18 or older to use the service.

You can start as a guest, but you are responsible for what you do through your session or account.

The Community Guidelines are part of these Terms. Safety features are not premium-only, and bans cannot be removed by paying.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date shown at checkout or in the billing interface. Paid web and PWA subscriptions are billed by Stripe and are subject to the Refund Policy and mandatory local rights.

By accessing or using Poplous, starting a guest session, creating an account, joining a chat, purchasing a subscription, or clicking to accept these Terms, you agree to these Terms, the Community Guidelines, the Privacy Policy, the Age Policy, and any policies incorporated by reference.

Poplous is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline. Reports submitted through Poplous may not be reviewed in real time.

Eligibility

You must be 18 years old or older to use Poplous. Minors may not use the service, create accounts, join chats, or attempt to bypass the age gate.

By continuing, creating a guest session, creating an account, or using matching, you confirm that you meet the age requirement and can follow these Terms.

Guest sessions and accounts

Poplous does not require a registered account before the first chat. Guest sessions are still subject to these Terms, the Age Policy, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines.

If you add email, Google, or passkey login, you are responsible for keeping access to that account secure and for activity that happens through your session or account.

Acceptable use

You may not use Poplous for child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion, sexual exploitation, harassment, hate, threats, self-harm encouragement, spam, fraud, impersonation, illegal activity, doxxing, unwanted contact sharing, or pressure to move vulnerable users off-platform.

You may not reverse engineer abuse controls, evade bans, overload the service, scrape users, sell access, use bots without permission, or interfere with moderation, safety, billing, or reporting systems.

Community Guidelines

The Community Guidelines are incorporated into these Terms. They explain the behavior Poplous allows, restricts, and removes.

Material updates to these Terms or the Community Guidelines will be reflected in the effective date, version number, and any user notice required by law.

Moderation, enforcement, and appeals

Poplous may use automated systems, human review, reports, safety signals, and operational evidence to enforce these Terms and the Community Guidelines.

Enforcement may include warnings, message removal, feature limits, matching limits, account restrictions, suspension, termination, evidence preservation, safety escalation, and external reporting when required by law or serious safety risk.

Where required by law and where we have a valid electronic contact method, we will provide a notice explaining the main reason for certain enforcement actions and the available review or appeal route.

Appeals may not be available, or may be limited, for emergency safety actions, child exploitation matters, credible violent threats, legal preservation, repeated ban evasion, or actions required by law.

Paying for premium features does not remove enforcement, reverse bans, or give access to unsafe features.

Feature availability

Some features may be unavailable, limited, experimental, region-specific, or released gradually.

If optional media, voice, or video features are disabled, related terms apply only if those features are later enabled and used.

Paid subscriptions and Stripe billing

Paid web and PWA subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Before checkout, we will show the applicable price, billing period, taxes where applicable, renewal terms, trial terms if any, and cancellation information.

You can cancel subscription renewal anytime through the account, billing, or support path made available by Poplous or Stripe. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not automatically refund past charges unless the Refund Policy, Stripe rules, or mandatory local law requires it.

Safety features, reporting, blocking, and core protection workflows are not premium-only.

Your content

You are responsible for messages, profile choices, reports, media when available, and other content you submit. Do not submit content you do not have the right to send.

You grant Poplous the rights needed to transmit, display, moderate, store when required, investigate, and enforce rules for your content as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Other users may save, copy, disclose, report, or share information you send through chats.

Service availability

Poplous may change, pause, limit, or discontinue features. The service depends on networks, browsers, app stores, hosting providers, payment providers, moderation providers, and realtime infrastructure that can fail or change.

Poplous is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Poplous is provided without guarantees of uninterrupted availability, perfect matching, or error-free operation.

Termination

You may stop using Poplous or delete your account through the available deletion path. Poplous may suspend or terminate access for violations, safety risks, fraud, legal requirements, or service protection.

After termination or deletion, some records may remain where needed for safety, billing, tax, fraud prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, backups, or audit logs.

Sections relating to enforcement, retained records, billing, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, disputes, and legal compliance survive termination.

Governing law and disputes

Disputes will be handled under applicable law by courts, regulators, or other authorities with proper jurisdiction.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be waived in your location.
