Plain-language summary
This policy covers web and PWA purchases billed by Stripe. If Poplous later offers Apple, Google, or other app-store purchases, refunds for those purchases may need to be requested through that store's refund process.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date shown at checkout or in the billing interface.
You can cancel subscription renewal anytime. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not automatically refund past charges.
Poplous may refund duplicate charges, verified unauthorized charges, non-delivery, major outages or defects that substantially prevented use of paid features, and some first-cycle accidental purchases within 14 days, unless abuse or fraud applies.
Scope
This Refund Policy applies to Poplous purchases made through the web or PWA Stripe checkout.
If Poplous later offers purchases through Apple, Google, or another app store, that store's billing and refund rules may control, and refund requests may need to be submitted through that store.
Before checkout
Before you complete a purchase, Poplous will show the plan, price, billing period, renewal terms, trial or promotional terms if any, cancellation method, refund summary, and applicable tax handling.
By completing checkout, you authorize Poplous and Stripe to charge the payment method according to the terms shown at checkout.
Automatic renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date shown at checkout or in the billing interface.
If the subscription renews, Stripe charges the payment method on file according to the billing period and price shown at checkout or later disclosed according to law.
Cancel anytime
You can cancel subscription renewal anytime through the billing path Poplous or Stripe provides.
Unless otherwise shown at cancellation, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period and stops future renewal charges.
The billing flow provides a cancellation confirmation after successful cancellation. Canceling does not automatically refund charges already made unless this policy, Stripe handling, or mandatory local law requires a refund.
Trials and introductory offers
If Poplous offers a free trial, discounted trial, or introductory offer, the checkout screen will explain the trial length, when paid billing starts, the post-trial price, how to cancel before the first paid charge, and whether access ends immediately or at the end of the trial after cancellation.
If you do not cancel before the disclosed trial end date, the subscription may convert to a paid subscription at the disclosed price.
Refunds Poplous may approve
Poplous may approve full or partial refunds for duplicate charges, verified unauthorized charges, paid features that were not delivered, major outages or defects that substantially prevented use of paid features, or a first-cycle accidental purchase requested within 14 days.
Refunds may be full or partial depending on the issue, usage, payment method, local law, and billing-provider rules. Unauthorized-charge refunds require reasonable verification.
Refunds Poplous usually does not approve
Unless mandatory local law requires otherwise, Poplous usually does not refund ordinary renewal charges after valid renewal notice, partially used billing periods, unused time after cancellation, purchases made through another billing channel, or accounts restricted for fraud, chargeback abuse, ban evasion, or serious safety violations.
Refunds may be denied or limited for fraud, abuse, repeated refund requests, chargeback misuse, policy evasion, serious safety violations, or substantial deliberate use of the paid benefit, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Mandatory local rights
Some regions provide mandatory consumer cancellation, withdrawal, refund, repair, replacement, chargeback, or defective-service rights. Nothing in this policy overrides rights that cannot legally be waived.
For some digital services, local law may provide a withdrawal or cancellation period unless immediate service begins with the required consent and acknowledgment. Poplous will apply any mandatory local rule that applies to your purchase.
Where local law conflicts with this policy, Poplous will apply the mandatory local rule.
Plan changes and prorations
If you upgrade, downgrade, or change plans, Poplous may apply prorations, credits, immediate access changes, next-cycle changes, or partial refunds as shown at the time of the change or as required by law.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Poplous or Stripe may retry the payment, send billing reminders, request an updated payment method, provide a short grace period, limit premium access, downgrade the account, suspend paid features, or cancel the subscription according to billing settings.
A failed payment does not create a refund right for prior paid periods.
Payment disputes and chargebacks
If you dispute a payment with your bank or payment provider, Poplous may limit paid access, pause renewal, preserve billing records, and respond through Stripe's dispute process.
If the dispute was opened by mistake, contact support so Poplous can review the billing history with you.
Refund timing
Poplous aims to acknowledge refund requests within 24 hours and decide ordinary refund requests within 3 business days. Complex, disputed, fraud-related, or legally sensitive requests may take longer.
Approved card refunds are submitted through Stripe. Banks and card networks commonly take 5 to 10 business days to show the refund, and some payment methods can take longer.
Poplous controls when an approved refund is submitted to Stripe. Poplous does not control how long banks, card networks, or payment methods take to post the credit after submission.
If a refund is approved, Poplous may remove, shorten, downgrade, or adjust the premium access tied to the refunded charge.
Taxes
Prices may include or exclude taxes depending on your location, checkout configuration, and applicable law. Taxes, VAT, GST, or similar charges may be calculated and collected at checkout.
If a refund is approved, any tax reversal or credit note will be handled according to applicable law and payment-provider processing.
Data and account effects
A refund or cancellation affects billing and premium access. It does not guarantee restoration of deleted content, expired chats, deleted accounts, blocked accounts, profiles, backups, or moderation outcomes.
Poplous may retain limited billing, invoice, refund, dispute, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, and legal records after a refund or cancellation.
How to request a refund
Contact billing@poplous.com with your billing email, Stripe receipt or invoice ID, purchase date, charge amount, account or session context if available, and a short explanation of the issue.
Do not send full card numbers, security codes, passwords, or identity documents through chat or support messages. Poplous will not ask for your full card number or card security code.
